Blue Moon Mark 1

Mission Profile

Blue Moon Mark 1 is Blue Origin's commercial lunar lander, designed to deliver payloads and eventually astronauts to the lunar surface as part of NASA's Artemis program and commercial lunar delivery services. Launched atop a New Glenn rocket, the Mark 1 variant is designed for uncrewed cargo delivery missions establishing surface logistics capability, with a crewed variant under separate development for NASA's Human Landing System. Blue Origin demonstrated a full-scale mockup of the Mark 1 in 2019 and was subsequently awarded a NASA HLS contract. Blue Moon Mark 1 represents Blue Origin's primary path to lunar surface operations and a cornerstone of Jeff Bezos's stated vision of moving heavy industry off Earth.
