Starship SN6
🇺🇸Block 1 Starship Prototype
Mission Profile
Starship SN6 (Serial Number 6) was the second SpaceX Starship prototype to perform a successful 150-meter hop test, flying on 3 September 2020 at Boca Chica from the same launch mount as SN5 using a single Raptor engine. SN6's hop was nearly identical to SN5's successful test two weeks earlier, validating that SpaceX could reproduce the flight conditions reliably and confirming the structural and propulsion improvements from the SN1-SN5 testing campaign. The vehicle landed successfully after the brief flight, becoming the second Starship to survive a complete test flight. SN6 was subsequently demolished to make way for higher serial number vehicles, with SpaceX moving rapidly toward the full-altitude SN8 test flight later that year.
