Mission Profile

The Starship B7/S24 (Block 1 Starship, Block 1 Booster) was a two-stage American super-heavy launch vehicle in the Starship family, the first full-stack Starship/Super Heavy combination to attempt an integrated flight test. Standing 121 m tall with a 9 m diameter and a liftoff mass of 5,000 tonnes, it generated 74,000 kN of liftoff thrust from 33 Raptor engines and was designed to deliver 100,000 kg to low Earth orbit. First flying in April 2023 under the Starship programme, the B7/S24 stack achieved liftoff but experienced multiple engine failures and was terminated by the flight termination system, though the test provided critical data for subsequent flights.
