Mission Profile

Dream Chaser Crew is the crewed variant of Sierra Space's Dream Chaser lifting-body spaceplane, designed to carry up to seven astronauts to the International Space Station and land on any conventional airport runway worldwide for broad crew recovery flexibility. Building on the same HL-20 lifting body heritage as the Dream Chaser Cargo System, the crewed variant adds life support systems, escape options, and expanded crew accommodations while retaining the signature runway landing capability. Sierra Space has proposed Dream Chaser Crew for potential Commercial Crew Program certification, which would give NASA a third crewed transportation option alongside Dragon 2 and Starliner, though the crewed variant has not yet been formally contracted.
