Mission Profile

The Vulcan Centaur 2S (VC2S) is a two-stage American launch vehicle in the Vulcan family, the initial configuration featuring two GEM-63XL solid rocket boosters and a Centaur V upper stage, developed under the NSSL programme to replace both Atlas V and Delta IV. Standing 61.6 m tall with a 5.4 m diameter and a liftoff mass of 547 tonnes, it generates 8,230 kN of liftoff thrust and can deliver 10,300 kg to low Earth orbit or 4,800 kg to geostationary transfer orbit. First flying in January 2024, the Vulcan Centaur 2S is ULA's next-generation launcher designed for national security, commercial, and scientific missions.
