Mission Profile
Orbital Reef is a commercial space station concept being developed by Blue Origin and Sierra Space as a planned successor to the International Space Station, contracted under NASA's Commercial Low Earth Orbit Destinations program. The mixed-use business park in space would feature a large inflatable habitat module from Sierra Space, Blue Origin's structural elements using New Glenn launch heritage, and a range of attached research and manufacturing platforms. Planned for operational launch in the late 2020s, Orbital Reef aims to host government researchers, commercial tenants, space tourists, and potentially film productions, targeting the transition period when the ISS is retired around 2030.
