Mission Profile

Axiom Station is the first commercial module-based space station under construction, developed by Axiom Space and contracted by NASA to attach to the International Space Station before eventually separating to form an independent commercial station. The first Axiom module (AxM-1) is planned for attachment to the ISS Node 2 Forward port, with three additional modules following to create a fully independent station. Axiom Space operates private astronaut missions to the ISS while its station hardware is being developed, establishing commercial operations experience before the Axiom Station detaches from ISS around 2030. The station will support commercial research, manufacturing, media, and tourism in addition to serving as a potential government anchor customer for NASA's post-ISS LEO strategy.
