Tiangong-3 (concept)

Mission Profile

Tiangong-3 (concept) refers to a Chinese space laboratory concept studied as a potential third module in the series following Tiangong-1 and Tiangong-2, which were intended as stepping stones toward the permanent Chinese Space Station. This concept was superseded by the decision to develop the larger, modular Tiangong Space Station (CSS) directly rather than an additional small laboratory module, making Tiangong-2 effectively the last in the transitional laboratory series. The experiences and data from Tiangong-1 and Tiangong-2 were folded directly into the Tiangong CSS program.
