Mission Profile

MV Megan (originally MV GO Searcher) is SpaceX's Pacific Ocean capsule recovery vessel, used to retrieve Dragon 2 crew and cargo capsules after their parachute splashdowns off the coast of San Diego following missions returning from the International Space Station via west-coast descent trajectories. The converted offshore support vessel is equipped with cranes, a wet deck, and recovery personnel trained in safe capsule retrieval operations from open ocean environments. Megan complements the Atlantic Ocean recovery ship MV Shannon, together providing coast-to-coast Dragon recovery coverage and redundancy for the US crewed spaceflight program.
