Mission Profile

The Titan II SLV (23G) (Titan 23G, Titan II Space Launch Vehicle) was a two-stage American launch vehicle in the Titan family, a refurbished decommissioned Titan II ICBM converted for satellite delivery. Standing 31.4 m tall with a 3.1 m core diameter and a liftoff mass of 150 tonnes, it generated 1,913 kN of liftoff thrust and could deliver 1,900 kg to low Earth orbit. First flying in September 1988, the Titan II SLV launched government payloads including weather satellites and classified military missions from Vandenberg Air Force Base, converting Cold War surplus into productive space assets.
