Mission Profile

The Atlas V 531 is a two-stage American launch vehicle in the Atlas family, a configuration featuring three AJ-60A solid rocket boosters and a 5-metre diameter payload fairing with a single-engine Centaur upper stage under the EELV programme. Standing 62.2 m tall with a 3.8 m core diameter and a liftoff mass of 435 tonnes, it generates 7,571 kN of liftoff thrust and can deliver 15,260 kg to low Earth orbit or 7,610 kg to geostationary transfer orbit. First flying in August 2010, the Atlas V 531 has launched classified military and government payloads requiring moderate-to-heavy performance with a larger fairing volume.
