Mission Profile
The Delta II 7925H-9.5 (Delta 7925H-9.5) was a three-stage American launch vehicle in the Delta family, a heavy-lift variant with GEM-46 strap-on boosters and a 9.5-foot payload fairing for maximum Delta II performance. Standing 39 m tall with a 2.4 m core diameter and a liftoff mass of 286 tonnes, it generated 3,813 kN of liftoff thrust and could deliver 6,100 kg to low Earth orbit or 2,170 kg to geostationary transfer orbit. First flying in July 2003 with the Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity, the Delta II 7925H launched NASA's most ambitious interplanetary missions.
