Mission Profile

The H3-30S (H3-30S Launch Vehicle) is a two-stage Japanese launch vehicle in the H3 family, the lighter configuration without solid rocket boosters optimised for medium-weight payloads at lower cost. Standing 63 m tall with a 5.2 m core diameter and a liftoff mass of 574 tonnes, it generates 7,258 kN of liftoff thrust and can deliver 6,500 kg to geostationary transfer orbit. First flying in June 2024, the H3-30S provides Japan with a flexible and cost-competitive launch option alongside the heavier H3-22S and H3-24L configurations.
