Mission Profile

The Thor DSV2F (Thor-DSV-2F, Long Tank Thor Agena D) was a two-stage American launch vehicle in the Delta family, pairing a Long Tank Thor first stage with an Agena D upper stage for improved performance under the Thor IRBM Program. Standing 23.5 m tall with a 2.4 m diameter and a liftoff mass of 52.2 tonnes, it generated 758 kN of first-stage thrust. First flying in September 1963, the Thor DSV2F launched classified military reconnaissance and signals intelligence satellites from Vandenberg Air Force Base.
