Mission Profile

PSLV-DL is a variant of India's Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle featuring two liquid-propellant strap-on boosters (DL = Dual Liquid), providing intermediate performance between the core-alone CA variant and the heavier XL configuration. Standing 44.4 meters tall with a 3,800 kg sun-synchronous orbit capacity, it first flew on 24 January 2019 carrying the Microsat-R and Kalamsat payloads. PSLV-DL expands ISRO's mission flexibility with a liquid-boosted configuration that falls between the CA and XL in both cost and performance.
