Galaxy Express
🇯🇵GX Rocket Galaxy Express Corporation
Concept Date2009-12-01
Mission Profile
The Galaxy Express (GX Rocket, Galaxy Express Corporation) was a proposed two-stage Japanese commercial launch vehicle concept, a joint venture using an Atlas V first stage with a Japanese LNG-fuelled upper stage for cost-effective medium satellite delivery. Conceived around 2009 under the GX programme, the Galaxy Express was cancelled after years of development delays and cost overruns when the Japanese government decided the vehicle could not compete economically with existing launch options.
