Mission Profile
The Proton-M Blok DM-2 (8K82M Blok DM-2) is a four-stage Russian heavy-lift launch vehicle in the Proton family, pairing the modernised Proton-M with a Blok DM-2 upper stage for heavy geostationary satellite deployment. Standing 58.2 m tall with a 7.4 m diameter and a liftoff mass of 705 tonnes, it generates 10,040 kN of liftoff thrust and can deliver 5,600 kg to geostationary transfer orbit. First flying in December 2007, the Proton-M Blok DM-2 launched Glonass navigation satellite clusters and other heavy government payloads.
