Mission Profile
The Delta M6 (Thor-Delta M6) was a three-stage American launch vehicle in the Delta family, a variant using six solid rocket augmentation motors around a Long Tank Thor for increased payload capacity. Standing 28 m tall with a 2.4 m diameter and a liftoff mass of 66 tonnes, it generated 758 kN of first-stage thrust and could deliver 700 kg to low Earth orbit. First flying in March 1971, the Delta M6 launched NASA scientific and applications satellites during the transition to the more powerful 1000-series Delta variants.
