Mission Profile

Jupiter (DIRECT v3.0) 130 ISS/LEO Crew 10m is a proposed DIRECT grassroots heavy-lift launch vehicle variant optimized for crewed ISS and LEO missions, featuring a 10-meter payload fairing and 94-meter height using Space Shuttle Main Engines. Studied around 2010, it could deliver 96,000 kg to LEO in cargo configuration and was presented as a lower-cost path to sustaining crewed access beyond the Shuttle era. NASA reviewed the DIRECT proposal but selected the Space Launch System for development.
