Mission Profile

The Neutron (Rocket Lab Neutron) is a planned two-stage American medium-lift reusable launch vehicle being developed by Rocket Lab for constellation deployment and beyond. Standing 40 m tall with a 7 m fairing diameter and a projected liftoff mass of 480 tonnes, it generates 6,850 kN of liftoff thrust from seven Archimedes methane/oxygen engines and can deliver 13,000 kg to low Earth orbit. With a planned first launch around late 2026, the Neutron features a unique opening fairing design and reusable first stage, positioning Rocket Lab to compete in the medium-lift market alongside Falcon 9.
