Mission Profile

The Titan IIIC with MOL (Titan IIIC/MOL, Manned Orbiting Laboratory Launch Vehicle) was a three-to-four-stage American heavy-lift launch vehicle in the Titan family, a modified Titan IIIC configured to launch the classified Manned Orbiting Laboratory military space station. Standing 43.9 m tall with a 3.1 m core diameter and a liftoff mass of 636 tonnes, it generated 10,680 kN of liftoff thrust and could deliver 12,700 kg to low Earth orbit. First flying in November 1966, the Titan IIIC with MOL launched an unmanned MOL mockup and a refurbished Gemini capsule on a single test flight before the MOL programme was cancelled in 1969.
