Mission Profile
The Aerobee Hi was a two-stage American sounding rocket in the Aerobee family, an improved high-altitude variant with a more powerful sustainer engine for greater apogee. Standing 9.4 m tall with a 0.4 m diameter and a liftoff mass of 900 kg, it generated 18 kN of sustainer thrust. First flying in April 1955, the Aerobee Hi significantly increased the altitude capability of the Aerobee series, enabling research above 200 km and becoming one of the most widely used American sounding rockets of the late 1950s and 1960s.
