Mission Profile
The Liberty Launch Vehicle (L2 Aerospace Liberty) was a proposed two-stage American launch vehicle concept in the STS family, combining a five-segment Shuttle-derived solid rocket booster first stage with an Ariane 5 cryogenic upper stage for crew and cargo delivery. Standing approximately 90 m tall with a 3.7 m core diameter and a projected liftoff mass of 535 tonnes, it could deliver 20,000 kg to low Earth orbit. Conceived around 2012 under the Liberty programme, it was proposed for NASA's commercial crew programme but was not selected and was discontinued.
