Mission Profile
The L-3 (Lambda-3) was a two-stage Japanese sounding rocket in the Lambda family, a small solid-fuelled vehicle developed by the University of Tokyo for atmospheric research. Standing 5 m tall with a 0.3 m diameter, it was part of the foundational Lambda series. First flying in July 1964, the L-3 contributed to the steady progression of Japanese solid rocket technology that led to the Lambda-4S orbital vehicle.
