Mission Profile
The Starship B4/S20 (Block 1 Starship Launch Vehicle) was a two-stage American super-heavy launch vehicle in the Starship family, an early full-stack test article that preceded the first integrated flight test. Standing 121 m tall with a 9 m diameter and a liftoff mass of 5,000 tonnes, it generated 74,000 kN of liftoff thrust and was designed to deliver 100,000 kg to low Earth orbit. First assembled in August 2021 under the Starship programme, the B4/S20 stack was used for ground testing and static fire campaigns at Starbase, Texas but did not conduct a flight test before being superseded by the B7/S24 configuration.
