Mission Profile

The Starship B12/S30 (Block 1 Starship, Block 1 Booster with Hot Stage) is a two-stage American super-heavy launch vehicle in the Starship family, a refined Block 1 configuration with hot-staging separation between the Super Heavy booster and Starship upper stage. Standing 121 m tall with a 9 m diameter and a liftoff mass of 5,000 tonnes, it generates 74,000 kN of liftoff thrust and is designed to deliver 150,000 kg to low Earth orbit. First flying in October 2024 under the Starship programme, the B12/S30 achieved the first successful Super Heavy booster catch by the launch tower's mechanical arms, a landmark moment in reusable rocket technology.
