Mission Profile

The Vega-C (Vega Consolidation, Vega-C SLV) is a four-stage European small-to-medium launch vehicle in the Vega family, an upgraded variant of the original Vega with a more powerful P120C first stage and Z40 second stage. Standing 34.8 m tall with a 3.4 m core diameter and a liftoff mass of 210 tonnes, it generates 3,738 kN of first-stage thrust and can deliver 2,300 kg to low Earth orbit. First flying in July 2022, the Vega-C suffered a failure on its second commercial flight in December 2022 and has been grounded for investigation and corrective action.
