Mission Profile

The Delta 1604 (Thor-Delta 1604) was a three-stage American launch vehicle in the Delta family, an Extended Long Tank Thor variant with six Castor II solid rocket motors and a TE-364-4 third stage. Standing 35.4 m tall with a 2.4 m diameter and a liftoff mass of 125 tonnes, it generated 921 kN of liftoff thrust and could deliver 475 kg to geostationary transfer orbit. First flying in September 1972, the Delta 1604 launched early Telesat Anik domestic communications satellites for Canada.
