Mission Profile
The Aerobee XASR-SC-2 was a two-stage American sounding rocket in the Aerobee family, an early variant used for upper atmosphere research. Standing 6 m tall with a 0.4 m diameter and a liftoff mass of 750 kg, it generated 12 kN of sustainer thrust. First flying in April 1950, the Aerobee XASR-SC-2 continued the pioneering programme of high-altitude scientific research that established the Aerobee as America's workhorse sounding rocket.
