Mission Profile
The Scout X-3M (Scout X3M) was a four-stage American launch vehicle in the Scout family, a variant with slightly modified motor performance. Standing 22 m tall with a 1.1 m diameter and a liftoff mass of 18 tonnes, it generated 464 kN of first-stage thrust and could deliver 68 kg to low Earth orbit. First flying in February 1963, the Scout X-3M launched early NASA scientific satellites during the Scout programme's early operational years.
