Mission Profile

The Titan II (LGM-25C) was a two-stage American intercontinental ballistic missile and launch vehicle in the Titan family, a storable-propellant ICBM that also served as NASA's crewed Gemini launch vehicle under the Titan ICBM Program. Standing 31.4 m tall with a 3.1 m core diameter and a liftoff mass of 154 tonnes, it generated 1,913 kN of liftoff thrust and could deliver 3,580 kg to low Earth orbit. First flying in March 1962, the Titan II launched all ten crewed Gemini missions from 1965-66 and served as a nuclear deterrent for two decades before retired missiles were converted into space launch vehicles.
