Mission Profile

The Thor DM18-C (Thor DM-18C) was a single-stage American ballistic missile variant in the Delta family, a standard Thor IRBM used as a standalone launch vehicle for suborbital reentry vehicle tests under the Thor IRBM Program. Standing 19.8 m tall with a 2.4 m diameter and a liftoff mass of 49.9 tonnes, it generated 758 kN of thrust. First flying in January 1960, the Thor DM18-C was used for military reentry vehicle testing and technology demonstrations.
