Mission Profile
The L-2 (Lambda-2) was a two-stage Japanese sounding rocket in the Lambda family, an early solid-fuelled research rocket developed by the University of Tokyo for atmospheric science. Standing 5 m tall with a 0.3 m diameter and a liftoff mass of 120 kg, it was one of Japan's smallest research rockets. First flying in August 1963, the L-2 was part of the foundational Lambda sounding rocket series that built Japan's expertise in solid rocket propulsion.
