Mission Profile

The Delta 1910 (Thor-Delta 1910) was a two-to-three-stage American launch vehicle in the Delta family, a lighter configuration using nine Castor II solid rocket motors without a third stage for moderate LEO payloads. Standing 35.4 m tall with a 2.4 m diameter and a liftoff mass of 130 tonnes, it generated 1,556 kN of liftoff thrust and could deliver 1,660 kg to low Earth orbit. First flying in June 1975, the Delta 1910 launched the OSO 8 solar observatory and other lighter NASA scientific payloads.
