Mission Profile
The Jielong 3 (Smart Dragon 3, SD-3) is a four-stage Chinese solid-fuelled launch vehicle in the Smart Dragon family, a larger variant designed for commercial small-to-medium satellite constellation deployment. Standing 31 m tall with a 2.6 m core diameter and a liftoff mass of 140 tonnes, it can deliver 1,500 kg to low Earth orbit. First flying in December 2022, the Jielong 3 is operated by China Rocket (a commercial subsidiary of CALT) and supports rapid multi-satellite rideshare missions.
