Mission Profile

The Saturn V-B (Saturn VB, Saturn V-Billion) was a proposed three-stage American super-heavy launch vehicle concept in the Saturn family, an upgraded Saturn V variant studied under the Apollo Applications Program for more ambitious deep space missions. Standing approximately 111 m tall with a 10.1 m core diameter, it would have featured performance improvements over the standard Saturn V. Conceived around 1965, the Saturn V-B was among several advanced Saturn derivatives studied but never developed as post-Apollo NASA budgets were drastically reduced.
