Mission Profile
The Thor DSV2E (Thor-DSV-2E, Long Tank Thor) was a two-stage American launch vehicle in the Delta family, an extended-tank Thor variant with improved propellant capacity under the Thor IRBM Program. Standing 23.5 m tall with a 2.4 m diameter and a liftoff mass of 52.2 tonnes, it generated 758 kN of first-stage thrust. First flying in May 1962, the Thor DSV2E launched classified military reconnaissance satellites into polar orbits from Vandenberg Air Force Base.
