Mission Profile

The Delta C1 (Thor-Delta C1, DSV-3C1) was a three-stage American launch vehicle in the Delta family, a variant of the Delta C with a larger solid-fuelled third stage for improved payload delivery. Standing 28 m tall with a 2.4 m diameter and a liftoff mass of 57 tonnes, it generated 758 kN of first-stage thrust and could deliver 360 kg to low Earth orbit. First flying in May 1966, the Delta C1 launched several NASA scientific and applications satellites during the mid-1960s.
