Mission Profile
The Atlas V 521 is a two-stage American launch vehicle in the Atlas family, a mid-range configuration featuring two AJ-60A solid rocket boosters and a single-engine Centaur upper stage under the EELV programme. Standing 58.3 m tall with a 3.8 m core diameter and a liftoff mass of 408 tonnes, it generates 6,323 kN of liftoff thrust and can deliver 13,490 kg to low Earth orbit or 6,475 kg to geostationary transfer orbit. First flying in July 2003, the Atlas V 521 has launched classified military and commercial payloads requiring moderate performance enhancement.
