Mission Profile

The Miura 1 (PLD Space Miura 1, Arion 1) was a single-stage Spanish suborbital launch vehicle in the Miura family, the first private European rocket to successfully complete a suborbital spaceflight. Standing 12.7 m tall with a 0.7 m diameter and a liftoff mass of 3 tonnes, it generated 30 kN of thrust from a liquid kerosene/liquid oxygen engine. First flying in October 2023 from El Arenosillo in Spain, the Miura 1 successfully reached space, making PLD Space the first European private company to launch a rocket above the Kármán line.
