Mission Profile

The H3-22L is a planned two-stage Japanese launch vehicle in the H3 family, a higher-performance configuration featuring two SRB-3 solid rocket boosters and a dual-engine LE-9 core for heavy geostationary satellite delivery. Standing 63 m tall with a 5.2 m fairing diameter and a liftoff mass of 575 tonnes, it generates 7,258 kN of liftoff thrust and can deliver 6,500 kg to geostationary transfer orbit. With a planned first launch around mid-2026, the H3-22L will be the most capable H3 configuration, serving as Japan's primary vehicle for heavy government and commercial GTO missions.
