The Rocket 3 (Astra Rocket 3, Astra LV0007-LV0009) was a two-stage American small launch vehicle in the Astra family, one of the smallest orbital-class rockets designed for rapid, low-cost dedicated small satellite launches. Standing 11.6 m tall with a 1.8 m diameter, it was designed for ultra-affordable access to space. First flying in March 2020, the Rocket 3 achieved orbit on its fifth attempt in November 2021 before Astra pivoted away from the vehicle due to reliability challenges and shifted focus to larger launch systems.
