Mission Profile

The Proton-M Blok DM-3 (8K82M Blok DM-03, 11S861-03) is a four-stage Russian heavy-lift launch vehicle in the Proton family, pairing the modernised Proton-M with an updated Blok DM-03 upper stage for heavy geostationary and navigation satellite deployment. Standing 58.2 m tall with a 7.4 m diameter and a liftoff mass of 705 tonnes, it generates 10,040 kN of liftoff thrust and can deliver 5,600 kg to geostationary transfer orbit. First flying in December 2010, the Proton-M Blok DM-3 has launched Glonass navigation satellite clusters, though its maiden flight ended in failure when the satellites were lost due to a fuelling error.
