Mission Profile
The Electron (HASTE) (Hypersonic Accelerator Suborbital Test Electron) is a single-stage American-New Zealand suborbital launch vehicle in the Electron family, a modified Electron first stage configured without an upper stage for hypersonic technology flight testing. Standing 18 m tall with a 1.2 m diameter and a liftoff mass of 12.6 tonnes, it generates 224 kN of first-stage thrust. First flying in June 2023, the Electron HASTE provides an affordable dedicated suborbital testbed for hypersonic research payloads, leveraging Rocket Lab's proven Electron platform in a new role.
