Mission Profile

The Long March 8 (CZ-8) is a two-to-three-stage Chinese launch vehicle in the Long March 6,7,8 family, a medium-lift rocket designed for sun-synchronous orbit missions with future reusability potential. Standing 50.3 m tall with a 3.4 m core diameter and a liftoff mass of 356 tonnes, it generates 4,800 kN of liftoff thrust and can deliver 7,600 kg to low Earth orbit or 2,800 kg to geostationary transfer orbit. First flying in December 2020, the Long March 8 has been used for commercial multi-satellite deployment and is being developed in a reusable first-stage variant for cost-effective satellite constellation launches.
