Mission Profile

The Ariane-44LP (AR44LP, A44LP) was a three-stage European launch vehicle in the Ariane 4 family, a versatile configuration using two liquid and two solid strap-on boosters. Standing 58.4 m tall with a 3.8 m diameter and a liftoff mass of 418 tonnes, it generated 4,688 kN of liftoff thrust and could deliver 4,220 kg to geostationary transfer orbit. First flying in June 1988, the Ariane-44LP was one of the most popular Ariane 4 configurations, offering a balanced cost-performance ratio for the commercial satellite launch market.
