Mission Profile
The Soyuz-2.1v (14A015) is a two-stage Russian light launch vehicle in the R-7 family, a unique Soyuz variant that omits the traditional four strap-on boosters, using only the core stage with an NK-33 engine for lighter payloads. Standing 44 m tall with a 2.7 m core diameter and a liftoff mass of 160 tonnes, it generates 831 kN of first-stage thrust and can deliver 2,800 kg to low Earth orbit. First flying in December 2013, the Soyuz-2.1v fills a niche for dedicated small-to-medium satellite missions that do not require the full Soyuz-2 performance.
