Mission Profile
The Atlas E Altair 3A (CGM-16E Altair 3A) was a two-to-three-stage American launch vehicle in the Atlas family, a refurbished Atlas E ICBM with an Altair 3A solid kick motor for small military satellite delivery under the Atlas ICBM Program. Standing 25.1 m tall with a 3.1 m diameter and a liftoff mass of 118 tonnes, it generated 1,630 kN of liftoff thrust. First flying in April 1990, the Atlas E Altair 3A was one of the final Atlas E variants, launching the last few government payloads before the refurbished Atlas ICBM fleet was exhausted.
