Mission Profile

Epsilon Launch Vehicle is JAXA's solid-propellant small orbital rocket, designed to be the most operationally efficient Japanese launch vehicle ever built through extensive automation that reduces launch crew requirements. Standing 26 meters tall with a 1,200 kg LEO capacity and first flying on 14 September 2013 from Uchinoura, it succeeded the M-V rocket at lower cost using a mobile launch system with intelligent health monitoring. Epsilon has launched a series of Japanese science and technology demonstration satellites, including the SPRINT and ASNARO small satellite series.
