Mission Profile

Vulcan Centaur 2L is a planned configuration of United Launch Alliance's Vulcan Centaur featuring two GEM-63XL solid rocket boosters and a long-fairing Centaur V upper stage for payloads requiring extra volume. Targeting a first flight around 2027 with a 9,800 kg LEO capacity, it fills a slot in the Vulcan product line between the 2S and the four-booster variants for missions needing a large fairing rather than maximum mass. The 2L is planned for certification under the National Security Space Launch program.
